July 11 - Kinetic at Walnut Green

Joe Sheehan and Kinetic — Kinetic's performances present a unique blend of global folk traditions and contemporary jazz, celebrating multiculturalism, wisdom, and unity. The group has released two acclaimed studio recordings blending jazz with folk melodies from Ghana, including Dances of Lake Volta, which Textura.org described as having “entrancing folk rhythms and enchanting vocal melodies… irresistible… celebratory”. The ensemble has performed in Pittsburgh for the Cultural Trust, Chamber Music Pittsburgh, Three Rivers Arts Festival, Alphabet City, and at Gallery365 in Toronto; and the music has been heard in Ghana, Uganda, Italy, and Hong Kong.

For lawn seating on the Walnut Green, purchase your tickets through Sweetwater for $25, children 12 and under are free.Seating is not provided, so please bring along your favorite lawn chair or blanket for your comfort throughout the evening. No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted in the premises.

Walnut Street will be closed from Thorn to Duquesne, where you'll find SweetRide set up with artwork for sale and a hands on art activity, Mr. Bulgogi Food Truck and Julio Peraza selling bites, Jackworth Gingerbeer selling cocktails and NA drinks, and yard games! Vocelli’s will have a pizza slice sale, and Coffee Village will be open later offering up evening coffee, teas, and more.
